My buddy John and I wrote a tune back in October at the Dark Songs festival in Wisconsin, and decided to take a crack at co-writing an album this year. We've been meeting up a couple times a week to do so-- in the hills of a western Kentucky river town that boasts only a couple of small churches, a cemetery, and a lone Coca-Cola vending machine. There are some great stories in that gem of a town, and it's lending to some easy writing.
I'll be back in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for Steel Bridge next month. One of my new favorite places, and states, and events. As always, there is an incredible cast of songwriters from all over the country. We'll be writing and recording songs together for the first part of the week, before taking over the vast array of watering holes, pubs, theater and outdoor stages, to treat the general public to some new (and old) material. It's a special thing that goes on up there. Thanks pAt & MJ!
